And so a skirmish raged within the little cottage until Marjolane’s thugs lay dead and Leliana struck down Marjolane herself.

Both Leliana and Boudica understood that given Marjolane’s suspicious Orlesian nature, she would never leave Leliana in peace. A true Orlesian, she tried to avoid directly talking directly about what she was up to until forced to by the blunt Orlesians.įinally, she revealed that she had been monitoring Leliana since she came to Fereldan and believed that Leliana’s departure from the Lothering Chantry meant she wanted revenge on Marjolane.

The address given by the assassin leader led right to Marjolane and her thugs. Aside from Shale, they were all very lean and fit. Boudica could at least take comfort in the fact that neither she nor her companions would ever get fat given their frequent travels on foot. Perhaps Weylon might shed some light on this and other questions…Īnd so, they head east, yet again. After killing the thugs, they note the strange armor they’re wearing these weren’t Loghain’s goons. As expected, Boudica’s band is attacked upon exiting the Inn. After some delicate prodding, he whispers that they’re being watched and he can say no more. His nervousness, however, reveals he’s hiding something. When they reached Lake Calenhad, the innkeeper claims to have never heard of Brother Genitivi. Both expect that in the end, they will cross paths with Marjolane. Boudica promises Leli – to whom she has grown close – that they will follow-up on this lead when they inevitably head east again. Previously at camp, she acknowledged that before becoming a Chantry Sister, she had been a Bard in Orlais until she was betrayed by her mentor, a conniving woman named Marjolane. It appears Leliana’s past has come back to haunt her. The thug quickly acknowledges that their main target was the “red-headed girl.” He doesn’t know the ultimate source of the contract but gives them the address of the go-between who hired him in Denerim in exchange for his life. Even so, they are recognized by one Sergeant Kylon of the City Guard. Both Boudica and Alistair shed their GW armor in favor of other armor to disguise their presence. They then return to the dead King and burn his body in a pyre as was tradition. They sadly note that Duncan killed many Darkspawn before falling at Ostagar…. After killing the Ogre a second time as well as his evil master, they recover not just the last piece of Cailan’s armor, but also Duncan’s sword and dagger. The last of these was a necromancer who resurrected a fallen Ogre. They seek out the Darkspawn commanders who had divided up Cailan’s armor and kill them one by one. Before providing the king’s body with a proper disposition, they vow to get revenge for the king first. They find Cailan’s body on the bridge stripped almost bare and hanging unceremoniously from a scaffolding. Perhaps he did know and this was his motive… if Loghain found out about any of this, it would explain his betrayal of Cailan at Ostagar, his plot against Eamon at Redcliffe, and his scheming with the Uldred and the blood mages. Some correspondence found in the chest also indicated concern over Anora’s failure and possible inability to have children with the possibility of a royal marriage between Celene and Cailan to further solidify an alliance between the two kingdoms. They were on the verge of concluding an alliance between Ferelden and Orlais to fight the Blight. They found the key to the King’s chest where Maraigne said it would be and opened the chest to find Maric’s sword and shield and diplomatic documents between the King and Empress Celene of Orlais. And so Boudica stopped at Ostagar with fellow Ostagar veterans Alistair, Wynne, and dog. He said there were important documents in the King’s chest which needed to be recovered. Desperately need to make the narrative catch up with the PT!Īfter Honnleath, with their new and wonderfully strange companion in tow, Boudica’s band began moving east but decided to stop at Ostagar after hearing the dying words of Elric Maraigne who was part of the King’s guard at Ostagar.
